Pool open for the season and cared for by all of us

This was perhaps the earliest pool opening in our club history, with the new pool facilities passing inspections with flying colors (100s!) Many thanks to our meticulous pool coordinator and all of the volunteers who graciously offered their personal time to wrap up projects around the property. Over 400 hours have been offered by our members in April alone.

First swim of the year, May 3, 2024 - 5 p.m.

New this year:
Coordinated by one of our handy maintenance chairpersons and contracted out with your maintenance fees, the old, wood ceilings were removed throughout the breezeway and pool deck. They were replaced with nice birch plywood, then painted a bright white by another contractor.

Your maintenance fees also went towards tiling out a shower in the men’s restroom and other repairs in and around the main building.

Volunteers moved and extended the retaining wall behind the pavilion, and after tidying up some plumbing, we should have a nice area for grilling and cooking. Stay tuned for details.

Things to remember:
Please, treat our new pool and improved facilities like they are your own—because they are.

Absolutely no glass should ever be on the pool deck, no matter how careful you promise to be. Leave glass bottles in the breezeway.

Follow the posted rules and any instructions from the lifeguard. Contact the board if you have any questions or issues.

Awesome events:
After a couple of great pre-season events, we had our first “pool” event of the year of May 4. Our Cinco de Mayo celebration was a huge success with over 110 reservations.

We have an Open House for new and prospective members coming up May 18 and tickets are already on sale for the Memorial Day weekend Low Country Boil and Indian Dunner in June. Make your reservations early so that event organizers can prepare more efficiently!
