Chili Cook-Off and Camporee

  • Northcrest Club 3524 Bowling Green Way Doraville, GA, 30340 United States (map)

Calling all cooks! Do you have a favorite chili recipe? Do you want to impress your fellow neighbors with your chili cookin’ skills? Look no further than Northcrest Swim and Tennis Club’s second annual Chili Cook-Off!

Come join us for a day of chili, music, football, and a night of camping!

ENTRANTS: We’re accepting the first 20 entrants. This year there is no entry fee and the GRAND PRIZE will be $200 off a 2020 Northcrest Swim and Tennis Membership (transferable, but not for resale or cash value) and bragging rights! 2nd and 3rd place prizes will include a Keep Northcrest Weird t-shirt and a trophy to adorn your mantel. Entrants are limited to NSTC members only, but we’re opening up the club to the whole neighborhood for tasting/judging and food!

If you’re interested in throwing your name in the hat please email us at to confirm entry by Saturday October 12th, 2019.  Please note the first 15 of 20 entrants can use the club’s power and the remaining 5 entrants must use their own power (or gas) to keep their chili at an acceptable serving temperature.

Details on what to expect that day and what we’ll need from you will be sent out the week prior to the cook-off, (Saturday 10/12).

TASTERS: Come  out and enjoy the chili and a hot dog while helping us determine the best Northcrest Chili Chef! Each member (adult and child) ticket sold will come with 1 spoon for tasting and  1 voting stub.  Use this link below to purchase your tickets in advance. (walk-ups will be welcome) Ticket prices are  $12/$15/$6 (member/non-member/child).

We'll have the TV set up for some football viewing and the cornhole boards set up for some friendly competition.  It's a tailgate without the pricey parking or long bathroom lines!

We're also having a beer potluck again.  What is a beer potluck, you might ask? It's just like a regular potluck, but with beer! If you so choose, bring some of your favorite beers to share with your neighbors.  Bringing more than one variety is preferred, variety is the spice of life!  Are you a home brewer?  Let's taste your wares! If you're in the chili cook-off bring a beer that pairs well with your chili!

Contestants must have their chili ready for tasting/judging by 3pm.

We count the votes and announce our winners at 5pm!

After the chili has been judged, pull up a chair, crack open a beverage and listen to some music!  Mike Sullivan and his band will be performing along with an opening act by Jessica Hayes (and possibly a guest or two)...
